GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® SERVICES
OVERVIEW OF GYROTONIC®
The GYROTONIC® Method is an original and unique movement method that addresses the entire person by opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and improving strength and movement efficiency. With GYROTONIC® exercises, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility.
The GYROTONIC® Method utilises specialised equipment to guide, assist and challenge the exerciser.
People from all walks of life take GYROTONIC® classes, including fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens, accomplished athletes and people recovering from an injury or living with a disability. GYROTONIC® exercises help athletes improve their performance and rehabilitation clients recover more quickly and fully post injury.
The GYROTONIC® Method is practiced in group or private classes under the instruction of a qualified GYROTONIC® Trainer.
OVERVIEW OF GYROKINESIS®
The GYROKINESIS® Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method that coordinates movement, breath and mental focus.
The GYROKINESIS® Method is practiced on a mat and chair without equipment. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a GYROKINESIS® class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences
GETTING STARTED
The GYROKINESIS® Method is practised primarily as matwork, either in group or private classes. You can also practise GYROKINESIS® at home using a mat, chair, and instructional videos, or join virtual classes.
GYROTONIC®, on the other hand, is typically offered as private, one-on-one sessions using specialised equipment for personalised instruction and tailored movement sequences. Both methods complement each other and provide unique approaches to movement and wellness.
Both methods are accessed similarly and are taught by licensed trainers. It is recommended to try a couple of classes for each method to give you the opportunity to learn and integrate this new way of moving into your body.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TAKE A GYROTONIC® OR GYROKINESIS® CLASS?
Clients typically take 1–3 classes per week depending on what their schedule and/or budget will allow. Often students supplement their studio class(es) with a GYROKINESIS® home practice, allowing them to incorporate either a GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® session into their schedule on a daily basis.
SPECIALISED EQUIPMENT
The human body is designed to work as one harmonious system, to follow arcing and spiraling paths of motion, and to transition from one movement to the next smoothly and efficiently. GYROTONIC® Method creator, Juliu Horvath, designed a specialised line of equipment around these natural movement patterns. Because GYROTONIC® equipment is highly adjustable, it can be customised to fit each person’s unique physique and ability, adapting for things such as height, arm/leg length and range of motion.
JUMPING-STRETCHING BOARD
A broad range of exercise sequences and modification options make the Jumping-Stretching Board accessible to people of all levels of strength and flexibility. Due to its versatility, and popularity with clients, this is often the first piece of specialised equipment added to a GYROTONIC® studio.
Jumping-Stretching Board exercise sequences are composed of full body, functional exercises, performed in a variety of body positions—kneeling, standing, lying and sitting. A diverse range of standing exercises improve flexibility, coordination, and functional strength.
The ergonomic, gliding platform allows users to experience running, and jumping in a low impact, horizontal plane, with the spine and pelvis fully supported, making it ideal for post injury exercise. Four independent gliding slides, with optional rotating platforms, provide for challenging strength and coordination sequences. The propeller accessory, and pulley tower feature are also included with this unit.
THE GYROTONIC® AND GYROKINESIS® METHODS
The GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Methods are complementary exercise methods.
Both methods were developed by Juliu Horvath, an ethnic Hungarian and professional dancer from Romania. Horvath suffered a series of debilitating injuries during his dance career and began developing what are now known as the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Methods as a way to heal himself and regain his strength and agility.
GYROTONIC® exercises are performed on custom-designed GYROTONIC® equipment, whereas GYROKINESIS® exercises are performed on a mat and chair. Both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements which flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions with corresponding breathing patterns. Each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, agility, strength and flexibility.

AYURVEDIC CONSULTATION SERVICES
Ayurveda offers a holistic path to transformation that is simple yet deep by addressing root causes to empower individuals to lasting wellness.
The initial consultation is an in-depth assessment designed to understand you as a whole person — beyond isolated symptoms. We’ll explore your medical history, current health concerns, family background, physical constitution, digestion, diet, lifestyle, occupation, family dynamics, and mental and emotional health.
In Ayurveda, there’s a principle that “one man’s medicine is another man’s poison.” This reflects the understanding that each individual has a unique constitution, and our goal is to restore balance in a way that’s specific to you. Ayurveda, meaning “The Science of Life,” is a traditional medical system with over 5,000 years of clinical application. It offers a profound understanding of the body’s natural rhythms, with an emphasis on prevention, vitality, and sustainable health.
Following the first consultation, you will receive tailored recommendations — practical, achievable steps to begin shifting your system toward balance. This might include guidance on diet, daily routines, specific foods that support your constitution, home remedies, and lifestyle practices. You will not be expected to overhaul your life in one go; change is introduced gradually and mindfully.
We’ll also use this first session to schedule your second consultation, which can be conducted either in person or via Zoom. The follow-up allows us to review your progress, refine your plan, and offer further clinical support as needed.
